With Spring sports kicking into full gear soon, Track season is heating up with the excitement for Girls' Track season! Last year, our girls' team was able to capture 3rd place at a competitive State Championship meet. This year the girls have high hopes, with big goals in mind. There are many talented runners this year, with more to step up and fill empty spots.

When interviewing a senior, Leah Smith, on her thoughts for the upcoming Track season, she said, "I'm excited to have a fun last season with my friends." When asked about her personal goals, she stated, "I'm excited to compete at Team States, as well as improving her speed and getting some personal records."

Junior, Clara Slattery, also has some high goals, as she finished top 3 in the 100 and 200 meter dash last year, and is looking forward to continuing her success. Senior, Emma Riker, is also expected to lead our girls' team to many wins. Last season she finished top 4 in the 1 mile and led the girls' 4x8 team to a top 3 placement at States as well.

There are many reasons to be excited about the Girls' Track season, with many important pieces returning, and new faces joining the team. Coach Carissa Dean will continue to lead the team with many bright opportunities in the future. Make sure to keep a lookout for the team during the season!
