With spring sports beginning to warm up the anticipation for the 2026 Men's Track season has begun once again. With many returning members from the previous season, the track team is looking to capture a State Championship after coming up just short last season. Seniors, Sam Finley, Nathan Medendorp, Ezra Rowekamp-Ambs, and Luke Napolitan, look to lead the sprinters, while Sean Siems and Marek Butkiewicz lead the distance runners.
Sam Finley has his goals set high for the season, stating, "I'm looking forward to win

ning States with my boys.” When asked about his favorite parts of track, he stated, " I always enjoy getting food after practice and meets with my relay teams." With some major roles left open due to seniors graduating, there are many spots to be filled in relays, such as the 4x1, 4x2, and 4x4.
On the distance side of the track, Marek Butkiewicz looks to repeat his success from the previous season, earning first place in the 2-mile, 1-mile, and leading the 4x8 team to first at States. On the other hand, Sean Siems looks to dominate the 800, while stepping up in major roles to compete for more All-State awards for the team. The elite duo of Sean and Marek look to capture more personal records and lead our distance team to more success in the 2026 season.
With these open spots on the men's teams, many runners are looking to step up and be excited to make an impact on the team. Kyler Germinder, a freshman, and Ezra Rowekamp-Ambs are both looking to have breakout years in their events. With all that said, the track team looks forward to conquering the MHSAA Division 4 State Championship.
