With a future in the nursing field, Bethany will be taking her talents to Northern Michigan University (NMU) in Marquette. With a nursing degree, she hopes to work in big hospitals with the idea of being a NICU nurse or a labor and delivery nurse. The reasoning behind this is because of the diversity that comes with the job. Bethany explains that she enjoys having a lot of options to choose from when considering what specialty she wants to pursue. Not only this, but she also states that her mom is a big inspiration for why she wants to be a nurse. “I have looked up to my mom all throughout my life which is why I made the decision to become a nurse.”

When asked to recall a favorite memory at Hackett, she stated that running cross country and going to the meets was where she had most fun. She also explained that cross country camp in particular was her favorite. The camp was in the summer and the whole team stayed in a house while all training together. This is something she really enjoyed and looked forward to during her time at Hackett. She is going to miss seeing her friends she grew up with everyday and ultimately being able to do multiple sports during high school.

While she will miss the familiarity that comes with Hackett, she is looking forward to the new opportunities college holds. NMU is right on the shore of Lake Superior, where Bethany plans to spend a good amount of time during the next four years. She is excited to go to the beach and explore nature while she is in the Upper Peninsula. Running has always been a passion of Bethany’s and she hopes to continue in college where she will join a running club.

Bethany will be missed by friends and the Hackett community, but she will go on to do great things. Best of luck and congratulations Bethany!
