Gio Medina, a senior at Hackett, has plans to attend Kalamazoo Valley Community College (KVCC) for his next steps in life. A longtime member of Catholic schools, he plans to major in Heating Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, HVAC. With this major, he plans to open his own business and become a successful entrepreneur. The reasoning behind the major is because of the income and Gio has been interested in HVAC for a long time. He thinks it will be a good challenge and something he enjoys.

However, Gio has a lot of hobbies, one being Muay Thai. Before he starts his career in HVAC, he plans to go to Thailand for three months. In these three months, he plans to gain experience and grow in his sport. While he wants to study HVAC, he hopes that he will be a professional fighter and fight for the main organization, ONE. This is a dream that he has had for quite a while.

When asked about his favorite memory at Hackett, he remembers the freshmen year football team. “Although I didn’t really play that much, the energy from the team was unmatched. The teammates were also really great, which is where I found one of my best friends, Nathan Medendorp.” The one thing he will miss when he does go to college is the people at Hackett. “It will be weird not to see them everyday even if it’s just in the halls.”

When asked about things he is looking forward to in college, he explains that he is excited for the new opportunities. He plans to meet new people, make new friends, and learn new things regarding what he plans to study. With all of that said, Gio will be missed by the Hackett community, Congratulations and good luck!
