With seniors having roughly three weeks left, James Scothorn, plans to attend Western Michigan University or WMU. James plans to major in Biology and Science in hopes of pursuing urban science. Urban science revolves around greenhouse energy and ultimately conserving energy with solar panels. James also plans on living in a different city with hopes of creating a drastic change in the world, especially the environment.
When asked about his time at Hackett, his all time favorite memory was the soccer team sophomore year. According to James, everyone on the team worked hard which led to the success of winning the regional championship. He also stated that he would really miss being on the soccer team and miss playing with his teammates. While soccer played a big role in his four years at Hackett, he also will miss the community that Hackett brought. The familiarity of the school and the friendships he made during his time here.

Even though Hackett will be something James will miss, he is also really looking forward to his next couple of years at WMU. He is really excited about getting a degree in something he is passionate about, taking on responsibilities, and growing while also maturing as a person. He plans to continue his love for soccer into college and even join a club team at Western with maybe joining some other clubs as well.
As James plans to take a step into the next chapter of his life, the community surrounding Hackett will miss him. However, we all wish him the best of luck. Congratulations James!
