With spring break just ending, the seniors at Hackett begin to wrap up their last quarter of high school. Marissa, plans to attend Xavier University this coming fall with the intention of studying biomedical sciences. With this in mind, she hopes to become a Physician Assistant or PA for short. Marissa realized quickly that her career choice would be something in the healthcare field because of the opportunities offered and experiences she would love to have. “I want to be a PA because of the new opportunities I will experience. Not only this, but I can switch specialties allowing me to find my true passion.” She also enjoys the idea of helping those in need. “I want to be the person who sees them at possibly one of the worst moments of their lives and help them get to their best again!”
When thinking about her time at Hackett, her favorite memory includes states for Girls Tennis during her sophomore year. She was really excited when it came to the team dynamic, the team dinners, and ultimately watching her team play at a high level. It is something that she really enjoyed and will miss from her time at Hackett. While sports brought a lot of fun and friendships she hopes to hold on to, she also stated that she will miss the teachers at Hackett and friends. “As much as I am ready to leave and start a new chapter, I grew up with these kids. I have gone to Catholic schools my whole life, it will be hard to say goodbye.”

Marissa is excited for the next chapter of her life and is looking forward to the freedom, independence, and new opportunities college holds. She is excited to move away from home, meet new people, and maybe even join a tennis club at Xavier. She hopes to become involved with the university and even be a tour guide for the incoming freshmen.
The Hackett community wishes her the best of luck and a big congratulations!
