A soon to be Spartan, Nathan Medendorp, is a senior at Hackett who Nathan, who has been a part of Catholic Schools majority of his life. While he doesn’t have a specific career path regarding business, he knows he wants it to be related to finance. When asked why he chose MSU, he responded with “Something that I'm drawn to in life is pushing myself to be the very best. To me, MSU is a great opportunity to push myself in new ways and achieve things I would have only dreamed of.” Nathan seems overall really ecstatic to be a part of the Spartan community.

When I asked Nathan about his favorite memory at Hackett, he talked about how there were so many good memories, it was hard to pick just one. However, most of his memories consisted of something with friends and football, specifically the Schoolcraft game of his senior year. Even though Schoolcraft and Hackett aren’t considered rivals, this game is always the biggest of the season. During this specific Friday night game, a big play happened pushing United to a victory. Schoolcraft went off to the side and were pushed back 5 yards. United was able to get the ball back and score a winning touchdown to end the game. This memory here is unforgettable according to Nathan.
Nathan’s future plans for Michigan State’s campus is to participate in the community. He is really excited for the sporting events in particular, making new friends, and being a part of a larger community. With all this excitement in the near future, Nathan will miss the familiarity of Hackett and his friends he has grown up with. He said it would be a rather big change, but he is excited for what Michigan State has to offer. Congratulations Nathan, and best of luck!
