Sam Finley, a Hackett senior and a longtime member of the Catholic Schools community, is ready to take the next step in life. A soon to be finance major, Sam is planning to attend Hope College. This has been a college he has wanted to go to since he was little. With the idea of studying finance, he hopes to become a financial advisor, his dream job. The reasoning behind this career choice is not just the money, he wants to challenge himself. He stated that, “I want to challenge myself because I am a hard working individual. Finance is the best way to challenge myself and hope to become successful in the future.”

When asked about his favorite memories from Hackett, he stated that prom, from his junior year, was the best time he's ever had. He enjoyed the dance, food, and hanging out with his friends afterwards. However, the one thing he will miss from Hackett is his friends he’s made along the way and the amazing teachers that helped him grow academically. He talked about how different life would be because everyone will be going their own path. While Sam isn’t committed to a sport, he's looking forward to the freedom and the sense of independence that college brings. He also talked about how exciting it will be to meet new people and make new friends. He plans to rush in the fall which will help the process of meeting new people. This is just one of the things that he is looking forward to on Hope’s campus.

While he doesn’t have any specific hobbies he wants to try, he regrets not being able to partake in the chess club at Hackett. With new plans for the future, he hopes to be able to join a chess club. He thinks chess is a very interesting, yet complex game that he enjoys.  Congratulations Sam, and good luck!
