The air has turned crisp, and the leaves fall more and more each day. The days are growing shorter, with the sun setting around 5:30. There is even hope for the first snowfall this weekend. As the seasons change faster, we are one step closer to the most magical time of the year.
For many people, the holiday season, Thanksgiving and Christmas, is the best time of the year. There is something simple and special about it: good food, time with family and friends, and a much needed break from school. But what truly brings it all together? Music. Christmas music makes every moment a little brighter and every day a little merrier. The only sad part about the holidays is how short the season feels, leaving only a few weeks to enjoy those cheerful songs.

One of the biggest yearly debates is when it becomes acceptable to start listening to Christmas music. Most people say Christmas music should wait until after Thanksgiving. “I think it’s acceptable for people to start listening after Thanksgiving because that’s the holiday right after Halloween,” said Lilliana Arechiga, member of the class of 2026. Thanksgiving deserves its own time before Christmas takes over. But, not everyone can wait that long. “I just love it,” said Gio Medina, another member of the class of 2026. “It brings a different kind of joy to your car rides or your day. When the weather changes and you turn on that festive music, it’s a joy you can’t replace.”
Regardless of how you would answer the question, I am sure we can all agree that Christmas music is a great way to fill your time in the holiday season. It brings comfort, joy, and nostalgia, making the holidays feel just a little more magical.
